About Me

For the past several years I have been working on a series of teapots.  I started with “A Boy’s Dream.”  I won’t start off with a lot of art talk about the metaphysical, environmental or cultural weight that is crushing our souls.  This is a quick look at the physical response, in my life, to the world.  I’ve chosen the teapot as the vehicle because of the historically warm and fuzzy feelings it instills in our social lives.  I have delved into one of the basic human pleasures and brought it into an everyday object.

As my teapots evolved I tapped into my childhood memories.  That led to the “Johnny Rocket” series.  A place where you could grab your ray guns and put on your tin foil helmets to escape the world’s problems.

As evolution goes, here I go.  I have taken a break to monkey around.  This has resulted in a series of large plates and bowls.  Their images often remind me of people I know.  Primates mirror our every emotion and are a lot more fun to look at than people!
